Bill’s experience in real estate development and construction since 1981 encompasses over 11.5 million square feet in both the private and public sectors. Bill has been involved with over 4.5 million square feet of interior project management, and over 7 million square feet of Build-to-Suit and Base Building Projects. In 1999, Bill founded ConopCo to provide project management services, development, and property management services. His experience includes commercial office, manufacturing, industrial, hospitality, transportation, fitness, residential, retail, health care, public, institutional and infrastructure projects, and under his leadership ConopCo has successfully served clients in each sector. Before forming ConopCo, Bill held senior positions at a number of the nations leading real estate development and construction firms including The John Buck Company, Cabot Cabot and Forbes, Rubloff, and Turner Construction. Bill holds a degree in Architectural Engineering from the Milwaukee School of Engineering, and is an active participant within the Chicago Real Estate Organization, National Association of Office & Industrial Properties, Building Owners and Managers Association, Cornet and Lambda, Alpha International. A native of metro Chicago -- he was born in Waukegan and went to High School in North Chicago -- Bill is an accomplished athlete. He played baseball, basketball, and competed in cross country in High School, and played college baseball at the Milwaukee School of Engineering. He is proud to have led their baseball team to four consecutive division titles, and twice to Division III state finals as a co-captain of his team. Bill was also honored two years as first team all conference player at 2nd base. Bill remains closely involved with his alma mater and is an active member of the Milwaukee School of Engineering's Alumni Control Board, as well as providing valuable leadership as a member of the Fraternity Alumni Control Board of the school's Delta Sigma Phi chapter. Bill's interests extend well beyond commercial building. As a member of Saint John's Greek Orthodox Church in Des Plaines, Illinois he was a past parish council member. His involvement with the Greek-American community extends well beyond his church. In 1988 he lead a national team of 25 selected Greek-Americans from all parts of America to Kenya, Africa, who's mission was to build a 1500 square foot medical clinic -- by hand, brick by brick! Of this experience Bill comments, “This was one of my most satisfying projects. It is a joy to give to others, and a joy to use the skills that I've amassed over my career in this way to help the less fortunate.” Bill insists that “giving-back” be an integral part of ConopCo's activities -- and the activities of his family. ConopCo and the Conopeotis Family are active contributors to numerous charity groups based in Chicago, as well as national and international charities.
